AND We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
The willingness to make amends is a step of healing.  We’ve hurt others.  As a Christian, we are called to repair relationships whenever possible.  If we hurt others, we are called to go to them.  If others have hurt others, we are called to go to them.  There are important cautions here when it comes to toxic and abusive people, but whenever possible, we are called to take the steps to repair.
