As part of our Community Highlights Series, Pastor David of Campbell Community Church sat down with Matthew Moore and Aric Mei of Greenbelt Hospitality who are working on The Farm at Los Olivos project, a planned urban farm, farmers market, and fresh food restaurant planned to go on a small part of Los Olivos park. Our Pastors: Rodger, Bernie, and David Zook are excited about what this project means to this community. With Camelback High School and Villa Montessori School just a few blocks North on 28th street, and Larry C Kennedy School just a few blocks south, the opportunities for urban farming education in partnership with the local schools as well as the Devonshire Senior Center are interesting and a likely boon to the community. The fact that the project will cost the city nothing in taxes and bring a new amenity to our community without taking away all the cool stuff the park already has makes it really worth our time to see it happen. To learn more, check out the Facebook page for the project at The Farm at Los Olivos or the website at www.losolivospark.com.
Also, we encourage you to show up at the Parks Board meeting on February 22, 2018 at 5:00 pm at Phoenix City Council Chambers at 200 West Jefferson to express your support.
